I have recently purchased a few Canadian coins in .925 silver. They are fantastic!
They are similar to the U S Commemoratives, except the face value is a higher denomination.
I have taken quite a shine(pun?) to the $20 series. There are 64 issues to date. These coins are so unique. The Aviation Series features 20 planes, and all have a gold cameo on the silver proof coin. They come individually in a metal tin. They also were available in a series tin, containing all 10 of that series. The later coins are in wooden, leather, or other nice packaging. There are holograms, more gold cameos, and even crystal inserts into the coins.
I also bought a roll of the new, 2009, Limited Edition, HABS dollars. They commemorate the 100 years of the Montreal Canadiens(hockey) franchise. I sent a few to NGC to see what quality they will grade to. These are very nice too!
My only complaint with the Canadian sets at present is, NGC grades them and slots them, but no pricing? NumisMedia does not presently support a pricing schedule.
Nonetheless, NGC is still a great place to Register and showcase the collection.
I guess I can save the Numismedia issue for another blog.
